The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Carling, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pacheco feinted with a counter takedown.
Pacheco fails with a takedown attempt.
Carling misses with a series of wild punches.
Carling tries a head kick but it misses.
Carling displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pacheco.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pacheco closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pacheco lands in his opponent's guard.

Carling kicks Pacheco off and gets to his feet.

Carling lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Carling tries to bum rush Pacheco with a series of wild strikes but Pacheco uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pacheco tries to counter with a takedown but Carling is quick to defend against it.
Pacheco drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Carling throws a body punch but Pacheco moves out of range.
Pacheco fires out a quick counter leg kick but Carling just manages to avoid it.
Pacheco avoids the head kick by Carling.
Carling lands a high kick!

It looks like Luciano Pacheco has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carling throws a right and a left that both miss.

Carling stuffs the takedown attempt from Pacheco. Pacheco gets slowly back to his feet.

Pacheco is trying to pull guard but Carling has him pressed against the cage.

Carling pulls guard effortlessly.
Pacheco postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Carling wants to stand but Pacheco is controlling the position.

Pacheco postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Pacheco lands a couple of digs.
Carling preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pacheco with a flurry of punches that miss.

Carling manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Pacheco jumps guard but Carling stands there with Pacheco around his waist. Pacheco gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carling breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carling pushes Pacheco away with a front kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carling scores with a one two! Pacheco had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Carling! Pacheco is out on his feet! Carling rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Pacheco is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Pacheco is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
