Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pascual Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez comes to the cage accompanied by Another One Bites The Dust. Ryan Rage will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pascual Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rage!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage with a hook.
Rage lunges at Perez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Perez's hand.
Rage misses with a hook to the body

and Perez counters with a single leg into guard. Rage didn't expect that.
Perez preventing the sweep.
Our spies down at at V Elite Gym inform us that Rage has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Perez cracks Rage with a solid left hand.
Perez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Perez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rage, up you get!
Rage cracks Perez with a good jab.

Perez clinches up with Rage and pushes him back against the cage.

Perez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Rage pushes Perez off and scrambles back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Perez takes the fight into the clinch.
Rage working hard to break the clinch.
Rage has had enough of the clinch but Perez keeps him there for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rage wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Perez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been hearing reports that Perez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Rage shoots in for a double leg but Perez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rage checks a leg kick.
Rage is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Perez closes the distance and clinches.

Perez gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rage regains guard.
Perez slips nicely into half guard.
Perez stalling.
Rage is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Perez scores with a couple of nice shots.

Perez seems to be working for a kimura but Rage defends the submission attempt.
Rage wants to improve his position but Perez is controlling well.
Perez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Perez stands up out of the half guard.

Perez closes the distance and clinches.
Rage tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Perez just stands there and leans against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Perez jumps into guard, dragging Rage to the mat.
Perez has his hands on Rage's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rage throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Perez's body to avoid the submission. Perez has instead reached around Rage's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Perez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Pascual Perez!
During a confident post fight interview, Pascual Perez thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
