The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nielsen manages to avoid it.

Nogueira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nielsen's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nielsen is working an open guard so Nogueira takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Renato Nogueira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nogueira throws a left and a right that both miss

and Nielsen counters by moving into the clinch.
Nielsen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nogueira pulls his leg out and moves away.

Nogueira drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nielsen wants to sweep here but Nogueira controlling him for the moment.
Nielsen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nogueira's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Nogueira stands up from Nielsen's guard - Nogueira perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nogueira will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nielsen tries to counter by clinching up but Nogueira breaks away and moves out of range.
Nogueira ducks under a wild hook from Nielsen.
Nogueira lands a nice shot that snaps Nielsen's head back.
Nogueira throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Nielsen colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Nogueira as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Nielsen is left battered and dazed whilst Nogueira and his camp cheer!
