The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowanda dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rowanda counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Johnson shoots and misses
and Rowanda cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson has been working on his balance at Team Alpha Success, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Rowanda.
Nice body kick from Rowanda.
Johnson blocks a head kick by Rowanda.
Johnson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rowanda.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rowanda tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rowanda to the ground. Rowanda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Rowanda sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morten Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rowanda throws a leg kick which misses Johnson's front leg but catches the back leg as Johnson tries to avoid it.
Rowanda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Riaq Rowanda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rowanda throws a head kick that half lands.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rowanda did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

Rowanda manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Johnson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Rowanda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rowanda throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Johnson shoots and misses
and Rowanda counters with a stiff right hand.
Rowanda scores with a hook to the body. Johnson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Johnson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rowanda can pounce on him.
Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Rowanda pushes him off.

Rowanda scores with a jab to the head.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rowanda closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Johnson! Rowanda dives in looking to finish! Johnson is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
