Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rod Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tito Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kerr has closed the distance and engaged Black in a clinch.

We've been hearing reports that Black has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Black struggles to land a body shot inside as Kerr controls his hands.
Black tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kerr's elbow.

Kerr is looking for a sweep. Black is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kerr can do anything to dispel that myth.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Tito Kerr has been cut.
Black keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kerr's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

enabling Black to counter with a crisp jab.

Black remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Black is looking to take a break and control but Kerr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Black is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kerr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Black manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kerr on his heels. He'll look to pass Kerr's guard now, I'm sure.

Well Black has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
