PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Knudsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knudsen comes to the cage accompanied by Gorgoroth - Destroyer. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Konrad Knudsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jin Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar fails to land the takedown.
Knudsen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lesnar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Knudsen tries a head kick but it misses.
Knudsen tries to clinch there but Lesnar circles away.
Knudsen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Knudsen misses with a takedown

and Lesnar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Knudsen!
Knudsen tries to hold on but Lesnar pushes him away.
Lesnar unloads with some shots from mount but Knudsen bucks and avoids them well.
Lesnar scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Knudsen?
Knudsen is looking to get to half guard.
Knudsen manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lesnar tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Knudsen regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lesnar.

Lesnar postures up.
Lesnar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Knudsen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Knudsen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Knudsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lesnar scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Knudsen manages to mount him!
Lesnar is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Knudsen wants to control the pace but Lesnar is squirming around nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lesnar looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Lesnar is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Lesnar is keeping busy.

Lesnar manages to stand up with Knudsen still on his back. Eventually Knudsen drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Lesnar throws a strike but Knudsen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lesnar keeping moving, preventing Knudsen from controlling successfully.

Lesnar working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Knudsen has passed into half guard!
Knudsen is trying to control the action in half guard but Lesnar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Knudsen wants to stand but Lesnar has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Knudsen wants to control but Lesnar is keeping him busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lesnar tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Knudsen wants to take a breather but Lesnar is having none of it.
Knudsen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lesnar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Knudsen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Left hook, right uppercut from Knudsen.
Knudsen circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lesnar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Knudsen, pushing him back against the cage.
Knudsen can't break the clinch.
Knudsen jumps guard but Lesnar stands there with Knudsen around his waist. Knudsen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Konrad Knudsen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Knudsen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Knudsen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Lesnar dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Knudsen tries for a takedown but Lesnar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Knudsen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Knudsen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lesnar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lesnar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Knudsen is looking to control Lesnar's arms but Lesnar gets an underhook and turns him. Now Knudsen has his back to the cage.
Lesnar misses with an elbow over the top.

Knudsen pulls guard successfully.
Knudsen is trying to control the position but Lesnar postures up.
Lesnar prevents Knudsen from getting back to his feet.
Knudsen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lesnar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lesnar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knudsen trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Lesnar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Knudsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lesnar manages to get himself to full guard.
Knudsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lesnar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lesnar is striking from the bottom but Knudsen uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Knudsen tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lesnar.
Lesnar is staying active underneath Knudsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesnar can do anything to dispel that myth.
Knudsen tries to pass to full mount but Lesnar defends it.
Lesnar pushes Knudsen off looking to stand but Knudsen dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Knudsen wants to clinch up but Lesnar keeps it at a distance.

and Lesnar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lesnar.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lesnar's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lesnar throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Konrad Knudsen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Lesnar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lesnar swats away the attempt to clinch by Knudsen.
Knudsen misses with a body shot.
Knudsen keeps the fight on the outside.
Knudsen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Knudsen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lesnar counters by clinching up.
Lesnar using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Knudsen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lesnar makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Knudsen jumps guard and drags Lesnar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Knudsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Knudsen is looking to take a break and control but Lesnar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Knudsen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lesnar!

Knudsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lesnar is looking to escape.
Knudsen is really struggling to control Lesnar but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Lesnar wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lesnar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Lesnar looking very determined here, making life difficult for Knudsen.
Knudsen struggling to land strikes to the head as Lesnar covers up.
Good control from Knudsen.
Knudsen tries to get the hooks in deep but Lesnar pushed the leg off.

Lesnar wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Knudsen drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Lesnar 's chin! Lesnar is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Konrad Knudsen!
