Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kanchai Suya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Kanchai Suya has been cut.
Suya throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Morgan's head.
Morgan throws a lazy right hand but Suya sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Morgan swinging wildly here.
Suya has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Cave Fighting Team in the buildup to the fight.
A swing and a miss from Morgan.
Suya keeps Morgan at a distance using the push kick.
Suya takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Suya - that will leave a mark!
Suya throws a half hearted mid kick.
Morgan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Suya.
Suya feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Morgan misses with a hook. Suya ducked under it nicely.
Suya jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A telegraphed right hand from Suya misses the target.
Morgan loads up on a big right hand but Suya slips the punch.
Kanchai Suya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suya lands a nice leg kick that just misses Morgan's sensitive parts.
A combination from Morgan does no damage.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Suya.
Morgan avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Suya tries to land a front kick but Morgan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Good leg kick by Suya there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Suya thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Morgan if he has to take too many more of those.
Suya takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Morgan scores with the left hand. Suya knows he should have avoided that one.
Suya moves away from the strike by Morgan.
Suya throws the kick towards the body but Morgan avoids it.
Suya is looking to slow Morgan down with leg kicks.
Morgan scores with a nice head shot.
Suya is rocked!
Morgan throws a hook to the side of Suya's head but Suya sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oh Suya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morgan throws a monster overhand right that drops Suya! Morgan follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Morgan!
