Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kano Hokichi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shaun Stephens!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hokichi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've been told by Hokichi's head coaches at Apex that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Hokichi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hokichi digs a right hand underneath Stephens's ribcage. Stephens let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hokichi is pushing Stephens up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Hokichi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hokichi connects with a solid leg kick.

Hokichi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Stephens's calf.
Hokichi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stephens looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hokichi connects with a leg kick. Stephens looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hokichi darts in and clinches Stephens up against the cage.

Hokichi digs a right hand into Stephens's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Stephens's gas tank.

Hokichi is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Hokichi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kano Hokichi dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hokichi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stephens feints the counter takedown.
Hokichi moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hokichi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hokichi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


Stephens is rocked!
Nice straight punches there by Hokichi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hokichi.
Stephens is still on wobbly legs! Can Hokichi finish him?
Kano Hokichi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stephens switches off momentarily and Hokichi cracks him with a monster right hand! Stephens topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Hokichi dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Hokichi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kano Hokichi!
