The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kindly Man looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Faceless Man is fending him off so far but Kindly Man persists. Nope, Faceless Man circles away and we're back to standing.
Kindly Man doesn't manage to clinch there - Faceless Man circles away.
Kindly Man moves in looking to clinch but Faceless Man pushes him off.
Faceless Man misses with a series of wild punches.

Faceless Man forces Kindly Man back against the cage and clinches.
Kindly Man has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Faceless Man after a bit of a struggle.
Faceless Man swings wildly with an uppercut but Kindly Man uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kindly Man changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Faceless Man fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Faceless Man ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Faceless Man no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Faceless Man has his foot on Kindly Man's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kindly Man works his way back into a safe position though.

Kindly Man wants to control from the top but Faceless Man keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Faceless Man wants to hit a switch here but Kindly Man passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Faceless Man there!

Kindly Man throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Faceless Man because Kindly Man loaded up on that one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Faceless Man is squirming around, avoiding Kindly Man's attempts to control the action.
Faceless Man is desperately trying to improve his position but Kindly Man has a good base and remains in mount.
Faceless Man tries to buck Kindly Man off but Kindly Man takes his back!
Faceless Man rolls, trying to escape but Kindly Man keeps control of the position.
Kindly Man scores with punches from the back.

Faceless Man rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Kindly Man seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Faceless Man does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kindly Man looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Faceless Man with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kindly Man seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Faceless Man does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Faceless Man won't allow Kindly Man to pass to mount.
Faceless Man is looking to improve his position.

Kindly Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Faceless Man sees it coming and defends easily.
Kindly Man slips a nice elbow through Faceless Man's hands, connecting with Faceless Man's forehead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kindly Man is just content to waste time from the top position. Faceless Man takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kindly Man will probably get the nod.
That's time! Faceless Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Faceless Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kindly Man gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Faceless Man to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Faceless Man decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Faceless Man closes the distance and clinches up with Kindly Man, looking for a takedown. Faceless Man pushes Kindly Man against the cage but Kindly Man circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kindly Man lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Kindly Man drops down looking for an ankle pick but Faceless Man pulls his leg out and moves away.

Faceless Man fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kindly Man avoids it really well and circles away.
Kindly Man looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Kindly Man dives in and grabs Faceless Man's left leg, looking for a takedown. Faceless Man pushes down on Kindly Man's head and hops out.
Faceless Man tries to close the distance and clinch but Kindly Man swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Faceless Man displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kindly Man.
Faceless Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kindly Man.
Kindly Man stuffs the takedown attempt from Faceless Man. Faceless Man gets slowly back to his feet.

Faceless Man shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kindly Man napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Faceless Man stands up and beckons Kindly Man to his feet.

Faceless Man shoots in and bounces Kindly Man off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kindly Man is trying to control the position but Faceless Man postures up.

Kindly Man wants to control but Faceless Man passes easily into half guard.
Faceless Man takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Faceless Man wants to take a breather but Kindly Man is having none of it.
Kindly Man is trying to escape back to his feet but Faceless Man uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Faceless Man has control of an arm but Kindly Man manages to advance to Faceless Man's back!

Kindly Man is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Kindly Man is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Faceless Man has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kindly Man has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Faceless Man taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kindly Man doesn't care though - he's delighted!
