Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jones Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jones Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson scores with a decent looking hook.
Morris uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.
Jackson works over Morris's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Jones Morris has been cut.
Mick Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson wants to control but Morris is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Morris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Morris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jackson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Morris prevents Jackson from standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jackson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Morris drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jackson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jackson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jackson!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jackson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jackson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Morris counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Morris stands up and waves to Jackson to follow him.

Morris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Morris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morris's guard.

Jackson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Morris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Morris has escaped and now he's on top!

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Morris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jackson wants to stand up but Morris has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Morris has hold of Jackson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jackson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jones Morris showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Morris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
