Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Le Herring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herring has chosen Motörhead - One More Fucking Time as his entrance music. James Le Herring acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson tries to keep at a distance but Herring has taken the fight into the clinch.
Patterson is looking to take this one to the mat.
Herring is pressed up against the cage. Patterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Herring down to the mat. Herring avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Herring gets caught napping as Patterson dives in and scores a takedown. Herring manages to retain guard.
Herring really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Patterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Herring is fending him off so far but Patterson persists. Nope, Herring circles away and we're back to standing.
Herring lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Patterson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Herring is defending well.
Herring lands an elbow just above Patterson 's eye.

It looks like Cory Patterson has been cut.

Herring is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Patterson dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Patterson is working to tighten his grip on Herring 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Herring has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Patterson is really squeezing tight and eventually Herring passes out! Patterson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
