Johnson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Albino. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adam Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson cracks Palmer with an open hand slap.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice uppercut there from Johnson.
Palmer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Palmer's coach down at Enterprise Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Palmer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Palmer has managed to clinch.
A body shot lands from Palmer.
Palmer pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Palmer is leaning against Johnson and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Palmer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Palmer lands a big uppercut and Johnson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Johnson looks OK. Palmer waves Johnson back to his feet!


It looks like Adam Johnson has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson with a nice cross.
Palmer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Palmer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Palmer's waist but Palmer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Palmer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Palmer moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Johnson! Palmer continues to tee off on Johnson, landing with a left and a right! Palmer connects with a right hand that leaves Johnson sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Palmer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Troy Palmer!
A very excited looking Troy Palmer made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
