The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tangiers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Friedhelm is fending him off so far but Tangiers persists. Nope, Friedhelm circles away and we're back to standing.
Tangiers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Tangiers shoots for a double leg takedown but Friedhelm sprawls well. He's pushed Tangiers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tangiers ducks under a wild hook from Friedhelm.
Friedhelm displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tangiers throws out the jab.

Tangiers looks for a takedown but Friedhelm sprawls well.

Tangiers tries to work over Friedhelm's front leg with a kick but Friedhelm checks it.
Friedhelm fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tangiers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Friedhelm counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Friedhelm connects with a superb combination that knocks Tangiers out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Friedhelm before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Tangiers!
