Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damion Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moncho Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damion Suarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Moncho Graves!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suarez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Graves wants to pass the guard but Suarez is keeping the position.
Graves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Suarez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Suarez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Graves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Graves passes Suarez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Suarez has hold of Graves's hands but Graves slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Graves is pressing down on Suarez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Suarez is holding on for now.

Graves is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Graves is nestled in close to Suarez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Graves decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Graves has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Suarez is trying to keep an underhook but Graves manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Graves wants to take a breather but Suarez is having none of it.

Well, if Graves is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Suarez is trying to stand.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Suarez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Suarez gets tackled into the cage by Graves. Graves maintains the clinch.

Graves has picked Suarez up - he's going for a ride! Graves dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Graves has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Suarez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Graves is working away from the top position though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Graves connects with a nice short shot to Suarez's temple.

Graves looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Suarez is concentrating on defense, preventing Graves from advancing position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Suarez is looking for a sweep. Graves is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Graves turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Graves is looking to take a break and control but Suarez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Suarez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Graves pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Graves is stalling here. Suarez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Graves seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Suarez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Moncho Graves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Graves changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Suarez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Oooooh!!! Graves has knocked Suarez down with a huge combo! Graves steps away and waves a wobbly Suarez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Damion Suarez has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Graves darts in and clinches Suarez up against the cage.

Graves has Suarez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Graves pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Suarez tumbling to the mat - Graves dives into Suarez's guard.
Suarez is looking to stand back up but Graves counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Suarez.

Moncho Graves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Graves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
