Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Veiney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Veiney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Morris!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris dodges the punch combination from Veiney.
Veiney goes for a double leg but Morris avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Morris continues to drive forward.
Morris unleashes a big counter combination but Veiney bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Morris misses with a few strikes there.
Morris scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Morris tries to keep at a distance but Veiney has taken the fight into the clinch.

Veiney breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Veiney fails with the takedown.
Despite the aggression on Morris's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morris moves out of range as Veiney strikes.
Morris lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Morris misses with a double jab

so Veiney counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Veiney trying to control the position from guard on top but Morris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Morris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Veiney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Veiney shoots in but Morris avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Veiney slips a jab and a cross from Morris.
Veiney went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Morris works over Veiney's head and body with a nice combination.

Veiney manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Morris on his heels. He'll look to pass Morris's guard now, I'm sure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morris can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are working up against the ropes. Morris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the ropes.
Veiney goes for a takedown in the clinch but Morris prevents it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morris wants a takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jason Morris will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Morris jumps guard but Veiney stands there with Morris around his waist. Morris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Morris wants to get back to striking at distance but Veiney won't allow it.

Morris changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Veiney fights it off and pushes away nicely.

As Morris looks to move away, Veiney throws a big counter combo but Morris just gets out of the way.

Veiney takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Veiney shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Morris napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Morris tries to clinch but Veiney is having none of it.
Veiney doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Morris sneaks out the side door and pushes Veiney away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dick Veiney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Veiney lands a lovely overhand right.
Morris chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Veiney can pounce on him.
Veiney shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Morris counters with a series of strikes. Veiney will be more careful next time no doubt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Morris throws a right and a left that Veiney avoids nicely.
The fighters circling - Veiney throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Morris wants to counter the offense by Veiney and move into the clinch position.
Morris misses with a series of wild punches.
Morris shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Veiney eats them both and turns towards Morris to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Morris lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Morris.

Morris is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Morris is looking to break free of the clinch but Veiney has double underhooks.
Morris has Veiney pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Veiney manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Veiney turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Veiney manages to end up in side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Veiney is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Veiney is putting a hurting on Morris here, landing some big shots from side control.

Veiney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Veiney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Veiney lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Veiney is looking to take a break and control but Morris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Morris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Morris is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Veiney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morris for as long as he can get away with.
Morris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Veiney wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.

Morris tries to kick Veiney off but Veiney keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Veiney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Morris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Veiney wants to take a breather but Morris is having none of it.
Veiney working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Veiney prevents Morris from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jason Morris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Veiney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Veiney is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Veiney in particular looking to stall.

Morris pushes Veiney off looking to stand but Veiney dives back in and keeps control.

Veiney is trying to control. Morris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Veiney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morris's head.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Morris wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Veiney misses with a straight right.
Jason Morris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Jason Morris seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Veiney moves into the clinch successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dick Veiney showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Morris has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
