Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Odell Prince!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pepe Ibarra!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ibarra throws a sloppy body shot
and Prince counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Prince takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ibarra throws a body shot but no joy.
Prince misses with a takedown
and Ibarra makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ibarra throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Prince stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Prince takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ibarra throws the left hand but Prince avoids the punch easily.
Ibarra throws a hook but Prince blocks it.
And Prince counters with a quick kick to the body but Ibarra blocks it.
Prince staying out of range there.
Prince appears to be looking for a big counter.
Prince fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ibarra avoids it really well and circles away.
Prince fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Odell Prince. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ibarra rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Prince moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ibarra misses with a body shot.
Ibarra darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Odell Prince has been cut.
Prince has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Prince there as he acknowledges the shot.
Prince uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ibarra.
Prince bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ibarra misses with a double jab
and Prince counters with a nice body kick.
A shot to the liver by Ibarra. Beautiful body shot.
Prince gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ibarra gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pepe Ibarra!
