Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Loic Gunines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Weffart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weffart has chosen Gay Bar - Electric 6 as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Loic Gunines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Weffart!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weffart lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gunines backs up against the cage.
Weffart blocks the body kick.
Gunines really is a fat lump.
Good leg kick by Weffart there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gunines misses with a kick to the body.
Gunines with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Weffart to score with a decent uppercut.

Gunines shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gunines performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Gunines is looking for a kimura but Weffart is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gunines to get the leverage.

Gunines is thwarting Weffart's attempts to control the position.

Gunines thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gunines perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gunines throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gunines missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Gunines is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Weffart is trying to maintain the position but Gunines is very close to passing his half guard.

Gunines decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Gunines takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Andrew Weffart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Weffart dives in and grabs Gunines's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gunines pushes down on Weffart's head and hops out.
Gunines went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Weffart fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Gunines tries to keep at a distance but Weffart has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gunines is looking to take this one to the mat.
Weffart prevents the takedown attempt.

Weffart breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gunines scores with a takedown into Weffart's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Weffart wants to get back to his feet but Gunines passes into half guard.

Gunines content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Weffart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gunines's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gunines is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gunines thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Weffart's head.

A close round but Andrew Weffart will probably get the nod.

and Weffart counters with a low kick, right behind Gunines 's knee.
Weffart ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gunines throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
It seemed like Weffart was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Gunines shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gunines thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Weffart's head.
Gunines keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Gunines misses with a head shot. Weffart uses the momentum to regain guard.
Gunines might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gunines throws a big right hand that misses.
Loic Gunines overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gunines trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Gunines slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gunines shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gunines sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Weffart defending well though.

Gunines darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Weffart tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Gunines manages to move to mount!
Weffart is breathing heavily.

Gunines unloads with some shots from mount but Weffart bucks and avoids them well.
Gunines tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gunines throws a wild left hand from mount and Weffart manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A close second round but Andrew Weffart will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jab, jab by Weffart - just one landing.

Weffart pushes Gunines up against the cage in a clinch.
Gunines tries to pull guard but Weffart won't allow it.

Weffart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Weffart dives in for a single leg takedown but Gunines sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gunines changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weffart tries to avoid it but Gunines manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weffart to the ground. Weffart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gunines darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gunines trying to mount his opponent but Weffart defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gunines throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Weffart tries to kick Gunines off but Gunines keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Weffart has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Sentinel Sparring . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Gunines wants to free his trapped foot but Weffart is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gunines shoots in but Weffart avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Loic Gunines is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Weffart lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
