The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Westernfield.
Talley is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Westernfield gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Talley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Westernfield moves into range and clinches up with Talley.
Talley fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Talley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Westernfield clinches up with Talley and pushes him back against the cage.

Westernfield breaks from the clinch.
Talley has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Talley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Westernfield to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Talley is looking to stand up but Westernfield isn't so interested in that idea.

Westernfield tries to free his leg and advance position but Talley is retaining full guard.
Westernfield trying to stand up but can't free himself from Talley's guard.
Westernfield working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Talley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Westernfield doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Westernfield manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Talley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Westernfield on the ground.
Westernfield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Talley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Westernfield postures up.
Talley is looking to stand up but Westernfield isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Westernfield is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Talley wants to stand up but Westernfield is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Westernfield does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Westernfield forces Talley back against the cage and clinches.

Talley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Westernfield feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Talley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Westernfield has hold of one of Talley's legs. Talley is fighting the takedown attempt but Westernfield gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Talley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Westernfield trying to control the position but instead, Talley has worked for underhooks and has pushed Westernfield into the cage.
Talley is trying to break the clinch but Westernfield is controlling him.

Talley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Westernfield managing to control the position.
Talley wants to control from the top but Westernfield keeps moving.
Talley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Talley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Talley is looking to break free of the clinch but Westernfield has double underhooks.

Talley throws a head punch that misses.

Westernfield gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Talley is looking to stand back up but Westernfield counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Talley.

Talley tries to kick Westernfield off in order to stand up. Westernfield Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Talley tries to escape but Westernfield is in control.
Westernfield connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Talley some visible discomfort.
Talley wants to control but Westernfield postures up.

Westernfield looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Talley tries to bench press Westernfield off him but Westernfield keeps the position.

Westernfield tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Leon Will Westernfield has got the better of the ground game so far.
Talley tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Talley is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Westernfield has taken his back!
