PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lasse Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and sumyoun guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that sumyoun guy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from guy.

guy gets the takedown into side control.
guy scores with a couple of short elbows.
guy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kongo's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kongo manages to get back to half guard.
Kongo wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kongo is working hard here to advance position.
Kongo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

guy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

guy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kongo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
guy fails to land the takedown.
sumyoun guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

guy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kongo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kongo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kongo is breathing heavily.
guy working the body and head with strikes.
Kongo taking punishment in the form of punches.
Kongo on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Kongo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked guy off and has taken his back!

Kongo is hanging on to guy's back as he tries to escape.

Kongo is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. guy is defending well though. Kongo let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kongo misses with an elbow to the head.
guy is trying to get back to his feet but Kongo has full control of the position and if anything, guy has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Kongo keeps control of the position as guy tries to break free.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kongo looking for the RNC.
Kongo is throwing shots to the body but guy manages to wriggle free. Kongo pounces on him again and ends up in guy's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

guy shoots in and bounces Kongo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

guy is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kongo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. guy is looking to defend but Kongo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for guy! Kongo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, guy taps out and this one is all over!
