PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mack Daddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grey Worm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Worm has chosen Der Kaptain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Grey Worm!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Worm. Daddy does a little dance to reset his feet.
A little feinted left hand from Daddy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Worm avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Worm looks to score with a jab to the body but Daddy is just out of range.
Daddy is looking to counter punch.

Grey Worm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Daddy throws a looping overhand right but Worm ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Daddy's corner calls for a 1-2. Daddy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Worm displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daddy throws out the jab.

Mack Daddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grey Worm.

Daddy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Daddy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Worm looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Worm throws the left hand but Daddy avoids the punch easily.
Worm looks to land a combination but Daddy avoids it well.
Worm shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Daddy pinned against the cage. Daddy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

It looked like Daddy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Worm closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daddy to the mat! Daddy manages to get full guard.
Worm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Worm swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Daddy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
No joy there for Worm, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Worm shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Daddy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Worm on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Worm tries for a kimura but Daddy is defending well.

Daddy seems a little lost for a moment, as Worm dominates the positioning.
Daddy is trying to buck Worm off.
Worm tries to score with some ground and pound. Daddy controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Worm steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Daddy.
Worm lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Daddy slaps away a takedown attempt from Worm, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Daddy is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Grey Worm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Daddy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Daddy wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Worm's hips, looking to push off. But Worm grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Daddy screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
