PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Zimmerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Olbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Olbo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Olbo showed some decent athleticism there.
Olbo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zimmerman keeps working.
Olbo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Olbo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Zimmerman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Zimmerman and Olbo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Olbo wants to control from the top but Zimmerman keeps moving.

Zimmerman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Olbo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Olbo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Olbo wants to control from the top but Zimmerman keeps moving.

Olbo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Olbo stands up over Zimmerman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Zimmerman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Olbo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Zimmerman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Olbo's back instead.
Zimmerman doesn't have the hooks in and Olbo manages to turn into his guard.

Zimmerman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Olbo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Zimmerman is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Olbo has his hands clasped together but Zimmerman extends an breaks Olbo's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Zimmerman.
