Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aleksey Markov!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buster shoots in and drives through. Markov sprawls well.
Markov leaves Buster with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

It looks like James Buster has been cut.

Markov gets caught flat footed, as Buster shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Buster works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Markov is working to avoid the ground and pound but Buster connects with a decent elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buster tries for a kimura but Markov is defending well.
Markov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Markov covers up after that shot from Buster.
Markov is taking damage to the body and head.
Markov tries to roll but Buster sticks to his back.

Markov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Buster gets his way!
Markov is trying to break free.

Buster is persistently looking for the submission but Markov is defending it well.
Markov prevents Buster from getting a body triangle.
Buster struggling to land strikes to the head as Markov covers up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Buster punishes Markov with strikes from the back mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Buster dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Buster walks into a stiff left hand from Markov.
Some wild striking there from Markov.
Markov is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Buster like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Buster from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aleksey Markov!
After the fight, Aleksey Markov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
