Hosking comes to the cage accompanied by War Machine. Jimerson has chosen The Call of Ktulhu as his entrance music. Joey Jimerson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vincent Hosking's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Hosking!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joey Jimerson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hosking fails to land with a series of punches.
Jimerson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jimerson misses with a combination

and Hosking counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hosking is taking a breather. Jimerson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hosking wants to work for an arm triangle but Jimerson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hosking perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jimerson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hosking.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hosking wants to free his trapped foot but Jimerson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hosking in particular looking to stall.
Hosking wants to advance to full mount but Jimerson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Jimerson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hosking trying to control the position from guard on top but Jimerson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hosking is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jimerson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jimerson has escaped and now he's on top!
Hosking looking for a sweep. Not yet Hosking, not yet.

Hosking dodges the punch combination from Jimerson.

Jimerson darts in trying to clinch

and Hosking counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hosking.
Hosking knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimerson on the ground.
Hosking slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hosking trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Hosking drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hosking wants to control from the top but Jimerson keeps moving.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Vincent Hosking just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jimerson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hosking moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jimerson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hosking counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jimerson is looking for a sweep. Hosking is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hosking is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hosking wants to control but Jimerson is keeping him busy.
Hosking is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hosking uses his free foot to push down on Jimerson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jimerson.
Jimerson gets back to half guard.

Jimerson wants to improve his position but Hosking is controlling well.
Hosking is tying to control. Jimerson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jimerson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Joey Jimerson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hosking wants to stand up but Jimerson is controlling the position.
Hosking works his way into full mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hosking wants to control the pace but Jimerson is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vincent Hosking showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hosking has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
