Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shael Connen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quiet Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monkey has chosen Epic - Faith No More as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quiet Monkey!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Connen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Monkey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here as Connen stalls from top position.
Monkey tries to buck Connen off but Connen is having none of it.
Monkey keeps trying to improve his position.
Connen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Monkey prevents Connen from moving into mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monkey is pressing down on Connen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Connen is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monkey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connen wants to control but Monkey is keeping busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Monkey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Connen is just riding it out for now. Monkey eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shael Connen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Connen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Monkey's shoulder. That is not cool.

Connen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Monkey for as long as he can get away with.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Connen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Monkey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Connen is in Monkey's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Connen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
