Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladislav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Touko Unikeko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Unikeko has chosen Gesaffelstein - Opr as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unikeko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Volkov.
Volkov is looking to clinch.
Unikeko is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Volkov with a body shot.

and Volkov counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Unikeko stuffs the takedown attempt from Volkov. Volkov gets slowly back to his feet.

Volkov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Unikeko to the ground. Volkov is now in Unikeko's guard.

Vladislav Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Volkov goes for a double leg but Unikeko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Unikeko continues to drive forward.

Volkov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Volkov shoots in but no luck this time.

Unikeko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Volkov walks away with a smile on his face. Unikeko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Volkov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Unikeko asserts his dominance and retains side control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Unikeko working his ground and pound in the gym.
The referee asks Unikeko politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Unikeko prefers to stall for the moment though.

Unikeko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Volkov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Volkov is trying to maintain the position but Unikeko is very close to passing his half guard.

Volkov shoots in and drives through. Unikeko sprawls well.
Unikeko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Unikeko. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Well Unikeko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
