PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sitish Negi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Negi has chosen Blue eyes as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sitish Negi!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ramos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Negi's guard.
Ramos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ramos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ramos prevents Negi from getting back to his feet.
Ramos wants to control from the top but Negi keeps moving.
Negi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Negi wants to stand up but Ramos is controlling him.
Ramos throws a strike but Negi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ramos wants to sweep here but Negi controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Negi wants to get up but he can't break Ramos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Negi throwing strikes but missing.
Negi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ramos is proving hard to escape from.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Negi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Negi gets to his feet - Ramos follows without any prompting.

Ramos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Negi to the ground. Ramos is now in Negi's guard.

Negi has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ramos has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Negi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ramos pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ramos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Negi pushes Ramos off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ramos forces Negi back against the cage and clinches.
Negi can't get the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Negi just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ramos's brow.
Negi is trying to drag Ramos to the mat but Ramos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Daniel Ramos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sitish Negi.
Negi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ramos pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Negi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ramos is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Negi to the mat. Negi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Negi wriggles free and stands up.

Negi tries to sprawl but Ramos drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramos not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ramos throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Negi to regain full guard.
Negi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Ramos chips away with some ground and pound.
Ramos with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ramos scoring with some ground and pound.
Ramos is working Negi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Negi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ramos distracts Negi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Negi looks winded!
Ramos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Negi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ramos is working Negi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ramos's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Negi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ramos controls the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Negi wants to get back to his feet but Ramos is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ramos distracts Negi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ramos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ramos stands up over Negi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ramos trying to control the position from guard on top but Negi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ramos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Negi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ramos makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Negi is rocked!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ramos's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Ramos will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Ramos is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Negi is in big trouble! Ramos is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Negi. Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Daniel Ramos!
