PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Flash Patrick Vea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Lee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Lee!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vea throws a looping overhand right but Lee ducks down to avoid it.
Lee is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Vea throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Vea forces Lee back against the cage and clinches.
Lee misses with a short punch on the inside.
Vea lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Lee.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Lee letting Vea take a breather here.
Lee working hard to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vea lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lee backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Vea pushes Lee back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Vea avoiding damage.

Vea works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Lee has momentary wrist control but Vea slips an elbow through the middle.
Vea showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Vea is stalling in the full guard.
Vea postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
Vea is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Vea lands a couple of elbows.
Lee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vea is controlling him.
Vea scoring with some ground and pound.
Lee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Vea throws a big elbow that misses.
Vea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee is looking to stand up but Vea isn't so interested in that idea.
Vea is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Vea stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Lee is rocked!
Vea gets to his feet and stands over Lee, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lee felt that one! Vea unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lee from any more punishment!

Flash Patrick Vea decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
