PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dimi King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xerxes LaVey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaVey has chosen Battle Hymn of the Apocalypse as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dimi King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Xerxes LaVey!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
King throws out a loose jab but LaVey uses good head movement to avoid it.
LaVey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
King drops LaVey with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but LaVey looks back up at him and smiles so King waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

LaVey is rocked!

It looks like Xerxes LaVey has been cut.
King throws a big shot that misses.
LaVey is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
LaVey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing LaVey off to one side.
LaVey tries to clinch up.
LaVey seems to have recovered his senses.
LaVey tries to clinch there but King circles away.
King throws a big shot that misses.
King cracks LaVey with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends LaVey tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but King pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! LaVey is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
