Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Huff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Caldwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenn Huff has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Huff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Owen Caldwell!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caldwell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Caldwell swinging wildly here.
Caldwell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Huff moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Caldwell lands with a good body shot.
Caldwell throws a head kick that misses.
Caldwell shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Huff swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Huff moves out of range of the strikes.
Huff slips a jab and a cross from Caldwell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caldwell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Huff takes the fight into the clinch.
Caldwell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Huff fails to pull guard.

Huff breaks the clinch.
Caldwell moves in looking to clinch but Huff pushes him off.

Caldwell scores with a shot to the side of Huff's head.

Huff lands a takedown into guard.

Caldwell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Huff off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Huff avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Caldwell will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Huff could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Caldwell throws a nice looking combination but Huff bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Huff counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Huff.

Caldwell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Huff uses from the top position.
Huff is fighting to break Caldwell's control of his arms but Caldwell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Huff with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Huff lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Huff is looking to work some ground and pound but Caldwell has wrist control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Huff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huff postures up in Caldwell's guard and throws a big left but Caldwell blocks it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Huff looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Caldwell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Huff trying to remain calm as Caldwell controls from the top position.
Huff is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Caldwell is controlling him well.
Huff tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Caldwell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Caldwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A little feinted left hand from Huff on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Caldwell throws a chopping leg kick but Huff manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Huff feinted with a counter takedown.

Huff has closed the distance and engaged Caldwell in a clinch.
Huff dodges an elbow strike from Caldwell.
A shot in the inside from Caldwell.
Huff tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Caldwell just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glenn Huff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Huff tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Huff is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Caldwell is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Caldwell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Caldwell fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Huff on the side of the head.
Huff shoots in for a double leg but Caldwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Caldwell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Caldwell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Caldwell wanted to stand there but Huff had control of the position.
Huff wants to sweep but no luck.

Caldwell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Huff, up you get!

Caldwell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Huff looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Huff might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Caldwell decides to stand back up. Caldwell steps back and let's Huff get back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Huff is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Caldwell has his hands clasped together but Huff extends and breaks Caldwell's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Huff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Glenn Huff!
