PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Placencia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morris Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Placencia's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eminem - The Monster Ft. Rihanna. Edwards has chosen Up Like Trump as his entrance music. Morris Edwards will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards throws a combination. Placencia tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Anthony Placencia has been cut.
Placencia has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Edwards.

Placencia instigates a clinch.
Edwards is trying to break free.
Placencia avoiding damage.
Placencia pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Come on Placencia - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Edwards is trying to force a seperation but Placencia has the dominant position.
Edwards crunches a lovely knee into Placencia's ribcage.
Placencia can't break the clinch.

Placencia gets control of Edwards's arms and successfully pulls guard. Placencia will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Placencia has his feet on Edwards's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Edwards feints and then cracks Placencia's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Placencia down.

Edwards fails to land with a series of punches.

Edwards works over Placencia's head and body with a nice combination.

Edwards shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Edwards gets tackled into the cage by Placencia. Placencia maintains the clinch.
Placencia lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Placencia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Edwards lands with a slapping head kick.
Placencia lands a nice leg kick that just misses Edwards's sensitive parts.

Placencia closes the distance and pushes Edwards back into the cage.
Edwards wants to get back to striking at distance but Placencia won't allow it.
Placencia has Edwards pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Edwards manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Placencia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Placencia has hold of one of Edwards's legs. Edwards is fighting the takedown attempt but Placencia gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Placencia is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Placencia swings around for an armbar but Edwards sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Placencia's guard.
Placencia thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Placencia has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Edwards should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Placencia has tightened it up now! Edwards should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
