PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sandor Clegane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mutant Morais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sandor Clegane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mutant Morais!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morais fails with a takedown attempt.
Clegane keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Clegane misses with a wild combination.
Morais shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clegane as he avoids it easily.
Sandor Clegane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mutant Morais.
Morais misses with a takedown attempt - Clegane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Morais shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clegane pinned against the cage. Clegane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Morais slips a jab and a cross from Clegane.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clegane connects with a right hand. Morais shakes it off.


It looks like Mutant Morais has been cut.
Clegane defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Morais.
Clegane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morais moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Morais fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Morais looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Clegane is fending him off so far but Morais persists. Nope, Clegane circles away and we're back to standing.
Clegane misses the shot to the body.
Morais is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Morais bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Clegane is trying to control Morais's posture but Morais avoids it.
Clegane on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Clegane tries to get out of the position.

Let's hope that Morais has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ground and pound from Morais seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Clegane is trying to control Morais's posture but Morais avoids it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morais is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Clegane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Clegane is trying to control Morais's posture but Morais avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clegane trying his best to control but Morais has mounted him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morais controlling his opponent.
Morais is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Morais scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Clegane?

Clegane takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Clegane wants to hold on but Morais pushes him away.
Morais with shots to the head and body - Clegane looks very uncomfortable down there.

Morais has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Morais lands a couple of good shots and Clegane has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Clegane is trapped and Morais is scoring with shots to the head and body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mutant Morais dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mutant Morais's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Clegane lands a jab to the head.
Clegane lands with a shot to the body.

Oooooh!!! Clegane has knocked Morais down with a huge combo! Clegane steps away and waves a wobbly Morais back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Morais on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Clegane throws a big shot that misses.
Morais tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clegane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morais somewhat.
Morais dives in and grabs Clegane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clegane pushes down on Morais's head and hops out.
Sandor Clegane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clegane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morais lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Clegane is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Clegane misses with a wild combination.
Clegane cracks Morais on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Morais falls backwards against the cage. Clegane follows up with more strikes that drop Morais to his knees. Clegane keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Morais! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sandor Clegane!

Jumping up and down and very excited, Sandor Clegane waved his t-shirt featuring Machine Fight Gear's logo in front of the cameras.
