Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robledo Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eka Tahuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Robledo Puch!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Eka Tahuna!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Puch misses.
Robledo Puch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tahuna blocks a jab.
Tahuna throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Puch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tahuna stuffs the takedown attempt from Puch. Puch gets slowly back to his feet.
Puch connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tahuna momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Puch.
Tahuna swings for the body but Puch moves out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Puch has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

It looked like Puch wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Tahuna felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Puch is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tahuna looks calm but he's in trouble here. Puch gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tahuna is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Puch lets go of the hold and Tahuna can pop his arm back in it's socket.
