Karelin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Soviet National Anthem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Karelin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Karelin throws a lazy right hand but Carwin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carwin misses with a double jab
and Carwin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch but Karelin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Karelin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carwin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

No luck for Karelin with that takedown attempt.
Carwin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karelin.
Karelin dodges the punch combination from Carwin.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A big right from Karelin misses.
Carwin moves in looking to clinch but Karelin pushes him off.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Karelin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
