Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between JJ Lakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paco Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lakes comes into the arena with Suffa by Hed Pe blaring out of the sound system. JJ Lakes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Lakes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gutierrez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gutierrez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gutierrez working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Gutierrez gets to his feet and stands over Lakes, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lakes felt that one! Gutierrez unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lakes from any more punishment!
