Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Putra Rajasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Rodelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rajasa comes to the cage accompanied by Bed of Roses. Brian Rodelin acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Putra Rajasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Rodelin!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rajasa throws a shot from downtown. Rodelin moves away and avoids it.
Rajasa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brian Rodelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodelin tries for a takedown but Rajasa circles away easily
and Rajasa counters with a stiff right hand.
Rajasa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rodelin.
As Rodelin looks to move away, Rajasa throws a big counter combo bu Rodelin just gets out of the way.
We've been told by Rajasa's head coaches at Fokai Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rodelin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rajasa avoids it really well and circles away.
Putra Rajasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Rodelin.
Rajasa throws a quick inside leg kick.

Rajasa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rodelin was well out of range. Poor timing from Rajasa.
Rodelin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rodelin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rajasa avoids it really well and circles away.
Rodelin shoots in but no luck this time.
Rodelin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rajasa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rajasa is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

A quick step to the side and Rajasa tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rodelin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Rodelin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rajasa is looking for a sweep.
Rodelin wants to control for a moment but Rajasa uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Rodelin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rajasa's head.

Rajasa is trying to stand up here but Rodelin is controlling him well.

Rajasa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodelin on the ground.
Rodelin is taking a breather. Rajasa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rajasa has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rodelin is on him like a limpet, forcing Rajasa back against the cage.

Rodelin decides to pull guard.

Rodelin is adopting a defensive guard.
Rajasa throws a strike but Rodelin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rajasa is pulling down on Rodelin's head. It's preventing any offense from Rodelin, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodelin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rajasa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rodelin, into his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rodelin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rajasa lands a couple of elbows.
Rodelin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rajasa.
Rodelin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Putra Rajasa dominated that round.
That's time! Rajasa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rodelin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rajasa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rajasa is looking for a counter combo.
Rodelin tries to clinch there but Rajasa circles away.
Rajasa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rodelin manages to avoid it.

Rodelin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rajasa, pushing him back against the cage.

Rajasa jumps into guard, dragging Rodelin to the mat.
Rodelin wants to pass the guard but Rajasa is keeping the position.
Rodelin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Rajasa tries to lock up and control but Rodelin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rodelin lands a heavy elbow.
Rajasa wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rodelin.
Rajasa is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rodelin scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rajasa is trying to escape the mount.
Rodelin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rajasa tries to hold on but Rodelin postures up.

Rodelin wants to finish this one by submission but Rajasa is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rodelin.

Rajasa is squirming around, avoiding Rodelin's attempts to control the action.

Rodelin throwing strikes here but Rajasa is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Rodelin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rajasa is on top in guard.
Rodelin doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Rodelin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rodelin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rajasa's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Rodelin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Rajasa misses with a hook.
Rajasa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rajasa misses the shot to the body.
Rodelin closes the distance and clinches up with Rajasa, looking for a takedown. Rodelin pushes Rajasa against the cage but Rajasa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rodelin takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Rodelin shoots for a takedown but Rajasa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Rajasa misses the target.
Rajasa looks to score with a jab to the body but Rodelin is just out of range.
A jab lands there for Rajasa.

Rodelin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rajasa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rajasa wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Rodelin misses with a takedown attempt - Rajasa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rodelin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rajasa's waist but Rajasa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rodelin off to one side.
Rajasa slaps away a takedown attempt from Rodelin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rajasa half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Rodelin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rajasa throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rodelin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rajasa.
Rajasa throws a push kick but Rodelin slaps the foot to one side.

Rodelin goes for a double leg but Rajasa avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rajasa continues to drive forward.

Rodelin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rodelin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Rodelin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rajasa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rajasa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rajasa!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rajasa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Rodelin regains half guard.
Rodelin controlling the position well.
Rajasa wants to get back to his feet.
Rajasa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rodelin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rajasa not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Rodelin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Rajasa misses the shot to the body.
Rodelin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rajasa as he jumps to the side.
Putra Rajasa is winning the standup battle so far.
Rodelin slips under a jab from Rajasa.
Rodelin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Putra Rajasa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rajasa tries to land a body kick
and Rodelin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rodelin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rodelin shoots and misses
and Rajasa counters with a two punch combo.
Rajasa throws a right and a left that Rodelin avoids nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Putra Rajasa showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rajasa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
