And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.

Black closes the distance and clinches.

Smith pulls guard.
Black has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Smith working for a triangle but Black defends it easily.
Black is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Black has managed to sneak the leg through.

Black seems to be working for a kimura but Smith defends the submission attempt.
Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Black's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Black's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith is looking for a rear naked choke here but Black reverses the position brilliantly into Smith's guard!

Smith is looking for a triangle here but Black uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Black decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Black misses with a jab, cross combination.

Black fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.

Black breaks from the clinch.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Black has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Black.

Smith tries to bench press Black off him but Black keeps the position.
Smith looks gassed!
Smith is trying to buck Black off.
Black will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Black's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith wants to get back to full guard but Black has mounted him!
Black landing strikes from the mount and Smith is in trouble!

It looks like John Smith has been cut.

Black is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black lands a really nice looking cross but Smith seems unphased.
Oooh a lovely combination from Black sends Smith down but not out. Black dives into side control looking to finish.

Smith is rocked!

That has opened up John Smith's cut even more.

Black is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there.

Black stands up and beckons Smith to his feet.

Nice shot lands for Black.

John Smith's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Black slips under a jab from Smith.
Black throws a series of strikes that have Smith backpedaling.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Smith's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
