The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmagemedov with a nice cross.
Khabib Nurmagemedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nurmagemedov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nurmagemedov takes a swing at Melet's ribcage but misses.
Nurmagemedov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nurmagemedov missing with a left hand there. Melet was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Melet is looking to counter the offense by Nurmagemedov and move into the clinch.
No joy there for Nurmagemedov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters circling - Nurmagemedov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Melet has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nurmagemedov finds it's way round the side to connect with Melet's head.
Melet takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nurmagemedov punishes Melet's body with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Melet shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nurmagemedov drops Melet with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Melet! Nurmagemedov dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
