Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Davis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Davis turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Carter looks for a takedown but Davis sprawls well.
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.
Carter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Davis on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Davis tries to get set, Carter tries to push him back and clinch up but Davis manages to avoid the attempt.

Carter has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Davis has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Davis tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Carter lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Carter.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Horrible takedown attempt by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Carter, which made it look bad.

Carter moves into range and clinches up with Davis.
Davis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carter walks away with a smile on his face. Davis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Davis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
