Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stanley Kimmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Williams!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.
Williams throws a series of punches but Kimmons avoids them all with ease.
Kimmons dodges the punch combination from Williams.
Kimmons appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've been told by Kimmons's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Williams throws a one two combo.


It looks like Stanley Kimmons has been cut.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams throws a combination that misses

and Kimmons counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kimmons is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kimmons is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Kimmons is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.
Kimmons is just content to waste time from the top position. Williams takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kimmons trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kimmons drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Kimmons off! Kimmons jumps back into Williams's guard.
Kimmons really is a fat lump.

Williams manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Williams breaks from the clinch.
Williams throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kimmons changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Williams throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kimmons counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Williams!

Williams explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
James Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Williams throws a series of punches but Kimmons moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Williams lands a left and a right that send Kimmons crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Kimmons decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Williams's guard.
Kimmons trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
Kimmons is breathing heavily.

Kimmons drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kimmons jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kimmons wants to pass the guard but Williams is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Kimmons is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Williams manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kimmons has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Stanley Kimmons's cut is getting worse.
Williams misses with a double jab

and Kimmons counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that.

Williams explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Williams drops Kimmons with a beautiful combination! Kimmons stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Williams is looking for the KO!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Williams lands a hook that stumbles Kimmons back into the cage. Williams follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Kimmons to the canvas! Williams pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Kimmons has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). James Williams!
James Williams decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
