Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilberto Chamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilberto Chamba!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As Chamba looks to move away, Bates throws a big counter combo bu Chamba just gets out of the way.
Bates throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Chamba steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bates.
Chamba tries to clinch up
enabling Bates to counter with a crisp jab.

Chamba shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Chamba was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chamba is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bates has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bates is looking to reverse the position.

Chamba wants to stand but Bates is controlling his arm.

Chamba is looking to take a break and control but Bates is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chamba might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bates haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bates is looking for a sweep. Chamba is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bates is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Chamba jumps into side control!

Chamba throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bates works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters circling - Bates throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Bates clobbers Chamba with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Bates parries the strikes from Chamba easily there. Chamba is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bates to escape.
Bates is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Chamba is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Chamba is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bates can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Chamba moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bates has worked his arm free - good work by Bates!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chamba postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Chamba gets to mount! Bates was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Chamba tries to control but Bates wriggling away.
Chamba with shots to the head and body - Bates looks very uncomfortable down there.
My spies in Jedi Academy inform me that Chamba has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Chamba sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Chamba is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bates holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chamba tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Chamba trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Chamba has control of Bates's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bates regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bates wants to hold on but Chamba pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bates gets back to half guard.
Bates is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at R.A.D's Lads, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Chamba thows a huge punch but Bates dodges it nicely.
Chamba thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bates's head.
