The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lord wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pike has him pressed against the cage.

Pike is working for takedown but Lord is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lord throws an elbow that misses.
Lord goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pike prevents it.
Lord wants to get back to striking at distance but Pike won't allow it.
Pike just leaning against Lord, taking a breather.

Lord turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Pike tries to improve position but can't.
Lord working the ground and pound but Pike is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lord tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pike is trying to control Lord's posture but Lord avoids it.
Lord wants to take a breather but Pike manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lord.
Lord wants to control from the top but Pike keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Pike - that will leave a mark!
Lord shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pike as he avoids it easily.

Lord rushes Pike and presses him up against the cage.
Pike taking a breather.
Lord looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Pike is looking to control Lord's arms but Lord gets an underhook and turns him. Now Pike has his back to the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lord throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lord wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pike blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Pike is stalling here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Lord will probably get the nod.

Lord wants to clinch but Pike slips to the side

and Pike counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Lord wants a takedown.
Lord lands an elbow inside that Pike shrugs off.
Lord misses with a knee strike.
Pike looking for a takedown.
Pike changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lord fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Pike counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pike.

Lord is looking for a triangle but Pike pushes his legs off easily.

Pike drops back looking for a leg! Lord is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lord manages to kick Pike off! Pike jumps back into Lord's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lord lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pike!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lord swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
