Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Rawlings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dave Rawlings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Silva!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawlings misses with an uppercut.
Rawlings moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSilva.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Rawlings.

Silva instigates a clinch.
Rawlings with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Rawlings struggles to land a body shot inside as Silva controls his hands.
Silva tries to pull guard but Rawlings forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Silva blocking some punches.
Silva blocks an uppercut.

Rawlings has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Rawlings gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Silva uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rawlings. That's going to slow Silva down.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rawlings sprawls well. Rawlings wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rawlings has a couple of punches blocked by Silva.

The referee is keeping an eye on Rawlings - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nice takedown defense from Rawlings. No joy for Silva on that attempt.

Rawlings drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
Silva prevents a takedown attempt there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rawlings swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rawlings fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rawlings counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rawlings.
Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rawlings is defending well.
Silva tries to pull guard but Rawlings holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.
Rawlings misses with a knee strike.
Silva jumps guard but Rawlings turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Rawlings has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position.
Silva pushes down on Rawlings's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Silva wants to take a breather but Rawlings is having none of it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Rawlings tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rawlings wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Rawlings is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rawlings creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Silva's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Silva drops to his knees and Rawlings pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
