PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Te Rauparaha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Schilling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schilling is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sweet Caroline-Neil Diamond. Joe Schilling told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rauparaha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rauparaha goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Joe Schilling has been cut.
Rauparaha swings widly with a right hand
and Schilling counters with a nice body kick.
We've been told by Rauparaha's head coaches at Lock and Roll Grappling Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rauparaha turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Rauparaha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rauparaha shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Schilling eats them both and turns towards Rauparaha to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Schilling lands a really nice looking cross but Rauparaha seems unphased.

Rauparaha pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Schilling has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
