Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theron Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Hippy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hippy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Daniels's half guard.
Hippy is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hippy won't let Daniels get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hippy is stalling in the full guard.
Daniels wants to stand up but Hippy is controlling him.
Hippy stays in close to Daniels's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hippy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hippy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Daniels is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Daniels tries to escape but Hippy is in control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Daniels prevents Hippy from moving into mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniels pushes Hippy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hippy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hippy is taking a breather. Daniels says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee asks Hippy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hippy prefers to stall for the moment though.

Hippy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Daniels has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hippy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Daniels knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Daniels tries to buck Hippy off but Hippy is having none of it.

Hippy is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Hippy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Daniels is just riding it out for now. Hippy eventually gives up the hold.

Daniels is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Hippy feints and as Daniels raises his hands in defense, Hippy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Daniels is looking to stand up but Hippy isn't so interested in that idea.

Happy Hippy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hippy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Daniels.

Hippy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Daniels looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hippy slows the pace down.
Daniels is pushing Hippy's head away, looking to escape. Hippy manages to hold on to the position though.

Daniels fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hippy to the ground. Daniels is now in Hippy's guard.

Hippy has Daniels pulled in close to control his posture.
Daniels is looking to stand up but Hippy won't let him.
Daniels missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Daniels is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hippy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hippy has escaped and now he's on top!

Hippy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Daniels has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hippy uses from the top position.
Hippy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hippy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Daniels looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Daniels looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Daniels!

Hippy is looking to reverse the position.

You can see the frustration on Hippy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hippy controls the position for a moment.
Daniels tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Hippy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Daniels tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hippy is in Daniels's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Theron Daniels.
I think Hippy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
