Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Falconi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marko Falconi!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falconi misses with a jab, cross combination.

Askren shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Askren was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Askren tries to advance to mount but can't.
Askren misses with the ground and pound.
Askren sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Falconi is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The strikes coming from Askren are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Askren decides to stand back up. Askren steps back and let's Falconi get back to his feet.
Falconi throws a series of punches but Askren avoids them all with ease.
Askren throws a big counter combination but Falconi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Falconi looks winded!

Askren drops Falconi with a beautiful combination! Falconi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Askren is looking for the KO!


It looks like Marko Falconi has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Falconi looks to land a combination but Askren avoids it well.
Askren is looking for a counter combo.

Askren shoots in and bounces Falconi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Askren gets to his feet - Falconi follows without any prompting.

Askren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Askren changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Falconi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Falconi throws a right and a left that Askren avoids nicely.
Askren changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Askren manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Askren pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Andy Askren overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Askren throws a big right hand that misses.
Askren sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Falconi's guard.
Falconi wants to get back to his feet.
Askren seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Falconi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A combination from Falconi does no damage.

Askren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Falconi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Falconi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Askren is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Falconi is surviving well by controlling Askren's body position as best he can.
