Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santos Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wild Animal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos Fry had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Animal moves into range and clinches up with Fry.
Fry jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Animal walks away with a smile on his face. Fry gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Animal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Fry really is a fat lump.
Animal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fry's efforts to push away.

Fry changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Animal fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Animal closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fry looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Animal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fry pinned against the cage. Fry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fry is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Animal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Animal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fry swivels and escapes.

Animal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Animal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Animal has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fry uses from the top position.
Fry seems to have got his legs back now.
Fry throws a strike but Animal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Animal postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Animal, into his guard.
Animal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fry throws an elbow that misses. Animal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fry's guard. Nice move by Animal!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Animal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Animal can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Animal wants to clinch up but Fry keeps it at a distance.
Animal has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fry gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Animal wants to stand but Fry has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Animal drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fry manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Animal has Fry in his guard.

Animal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fry keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Animal's head.

Animal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fry stands up over Animal, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Fry shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fry is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fry thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fry misses with a head shot. Animal uses the momentum to regain guard.
Animal is looking to stand up but Fry isn't so interested in that idea.
