The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins avoids the head kick by Matsumoto.

The crowd cheers as Matsumoto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Collins doesn't seem phased though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Collins checks a leg kick nicely.
Collins looks to land a left hand but Matsumoto moved out of range nicely.
Fred Collins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Matsumoto lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Matsumoto throws a head kick but Collins moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Collins on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Collins moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Matsumoto goes down! Can Collins finish him!?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matsumoto is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matsumoto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Collins is keeping the position for now.

Matsumoto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Collins wants to stand and escape but Matsumoto is having none of it.

Collins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Collins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Matsumoto manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Matsumoto misses with a series of wild punches.
Collins misses with a few strikes there.
Collins connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Matsumoto covering up! Collins comes in with a big uppercut and Matsumoto goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Fred Collins!
A less than humble Fred Collins misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Hiromichi Matsumoto stepped up to the mic, saying 'For sure I'll come back stronger and more prepared next time. And next time, I will be the one with their hand raised!'.
