PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Farofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Kushman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Farofa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Kushman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farofa moves away from the strike by Kushman.
Farofa wants to clinch.

Farofa tries to keep at a distance but Kushman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kushman lands a shoulder strike.
Kushman keeps control of Farofa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kushman wants to take the fight to the mat but Farofa manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kushman lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Farofa is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kushman is keeping busy.
Kushman lands a knee to the body.

Kushman gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Farofa regains guard.
Kushman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kushman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kushman ducks under a wild hook from Farofa.

Farofa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kushman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Farofa won't be happy with that.
Kushman misses with the ground and pound.

Kushman is working to tighten his grip on Farofa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Farofa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kushman is really squeezing tight and eventually Farofa passes out! Kushman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
