The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hervey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
hervey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from hervey.
hervey fails with an attempt to clinch.
hervey scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Jean Duc has been cut.

Duc feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
hervey is trying to control the position but Duc postures up.
hervey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
hervey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
hervey is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Duc is working hervey over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Duc stops hervey from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
hervey throws a wild body kick that Duc sees coming a mile off.

hervey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
hervey is breathing heavily.
hervey is looking to advance position but Duc won't allow it.
Duc is trying is best to control the position here.
Duc is pressing down on hervey's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Duc is looking to sweep but instead, hervey has passed into half guard.
Duc is controlling hervey's trapped leg to prevent hervey from advancing to side control.

Duc wants to sweep but no luck.

Duc pulls hervey in to control the position.
hervey stopping the sweep attempt from Duc.
Duc controls hervey momentarily but hervey frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duc working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. hervey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Duc is tightening it up a little... hervey has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! hervey reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! hervey taps out! nice BJJ there by Duc!
