The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gormanson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Morse.

Gormanson rushes Morse and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Morse prevents a body shot from Gormanson.
Gormanson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Morse prevents it.

Gormanson has clasped his hands together around Morse's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Morse sneaks out the side door and pushes Gormanson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Gormanson rushes Morse and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gormanson jumps guard but Morse turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Gormanson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Morse just stands there and leans against the cage.
Archie Morse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gorman Gormanson.

Gormanson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gormanson lands a body shot.

Gormanson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Morse counters with a big head kick but Gormanson shrugs it off.
Gormanson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gormanson tries to bum rush Morse with a series of wild strikes but Morse uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Morse shoots in for a double leg but Gormanson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gormanson looks for the body kick but Morse saw that one coming.
A counter left hand to the body from Morse misses its target.
Gormanson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Morse gets tackled into the cage by Gormanson. Gormanson maintains the clinch.
Morse tries to pull guard but Gormanson holds him up against the cage and eventually Morse drops back down to his feet.

Morse pulls Gormanson into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gormanson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gormanson is looking to stand up but Morse won't let him.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Morse manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gormanson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morse walks away with a smile on his face. Gormanson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Morse tries to keep at a distance but Gormanson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gormanson can't get the takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Morse pulls guard successfully.
Gormanson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Gormanson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Gormanson gets to his feet - Morse follows without any prompting.

Gormanson takes the fight into the clinch.
Morse is trying to pull guard but Gormanson has him pressed against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morse tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gormanson avoids it.
Gormanson stalls.
Gormanson can't find room to land a body shot as Morse controls the action.
Gormanson is trying to drag Morse to the mat but Morse just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gormanson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gorman Gormanson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Morse showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gormanson.
Gormanson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gormanson scores with a jab to the body.
Gormanson tests Morse's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Morse dives in and grabs Gormanson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gormanson pushes down on Morse's head and hops out.
Morse takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gormanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morse swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morse takes one on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morse is rocked!

It looks like Archie Morse has been cut.
Gormanson lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Morse is looking to close the distance but Gormanson sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Morse crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Morse is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
